Hey guys--the band is better than ever! I should know, having been around for Daddio's and the Silver Fox
Sorry if I stumped you with the wave before the show Mike (you were great)! Puppet Dance!

Great Show!

Awesome show at Malone Park the other night! Great setting, great weather, and great music. Don't know how, but the Maxx Smart hasn't aged a day since I met him 7+ years ago. As for Maxx Daddy, what can I say? Still charming and enthusiastic as ever. And moves like a teenager! Hadn't seen Jamie or the new drummer before--kudos to both of you. The bass player, of course, was tops by me

Hey, I love me some Matty, too. He's like the brother I never had. But sometimes people just have to move away, and have to move on. We had a blast rockin' the Maxx as many years as we got to with Mark and Bo, but life just takes us in different directions sometimes.
As for Random Maxx not being the same, you're right. But if you think that means they're not still awesome-sauce, I think you're in for a rude awakening, my man. Mr. Nitka is a monster in his own right, and I can say that with authority, having shared the stage with him more than a few times myself. Yeah, he's got big shoes to fill, but man. I wear a size 18 combat boot, and Random Maxx more than filled MINE. Mr. Grassman is a gentleman, a scholar, and a hell of a drummer. I couldn't have done better had I hand-picked my own replacement. The current iteration of Random Maxx kicks just as much ass as any previous one, if not more so...Which is tough for my ego to admit.
So, at the risk of making it sound like I'm giving the eulogy at Maxx Buffy's memorial service, you should keep on digging Random Maxx as much as all of us ex-soldiers still do, because we would want it that way. I'm proud as hell of everything this band has accomplished and will accomplish whether or not I'm behind the kit. And I know for a fact Matty feels the same way.
Peace,
Jim.

Thanks for the high praise --- if you wanna check us out on facebook, just search Random Maxx and you can click to be a fan! If you wanna be friends with the individual band members, you have to find Jamie first.

Not the same without Phillips. The band took a dive since he left. sorry guys. gotta be truthful! get him back!
Mark writes:
Hi a-fan-in-the-burbs,
Sorry you feel that way. Unfortunately, Matty left of his own accord (as we've posted/publicized on our news page, emails, etc.) as he was taking a new job in York, PA. So, we're not going to get him back. As for not being the same, I'd hope not -- I think we will use his departure as an opportunity to improve our show. Maybe what you really were missing was due to Bo's absence, who was unable to play with us at CHG. Thanks for your comments!

Great job on the song you performed that you wrote. I didn't know you played guitar too.
You record it and put it on this site!

We'll just need Steffie and the Back Stage Babe to find us a party palace in NYC to do our stuff, then. Stef? Amy? Where can we get booked? Let me know & I'll have our agent work on it. Until then, I'm going to try and find the bundt cake where Mary's baked and see if she tastes as good as Mark does when he's curled up into a ball & coated with chocolate. Mmmm. (Good to hear from you, Jill...shoot me a message next time you're in the area!)
